Nestled in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation offers some stunning natural scenes from its remote headland that juts out towards the Great Barrier Reef.

Home to ancient rainforests, with thousands of native animal species and plant varieties, the Daintree is now a World Heritage listed site. It is the only place in the world where two World Heritage sites meet. The views here are stunning and unrivalled anywhere else.

Cape Tribulation lies on the coast of the rainforest. Here there are plenty of land and beach activities to choose from! Boat tours venture out to the nearby Great Barrier Reef, and there are plenty of hiking trails through the forest. Enjoy animal and bird watching opportunities, or more adventurous pursuits like zip-lining. Here are some of the more popular things to do in Cape Tribulation.

  • Diving and Snorkelling

The underwater world at Cape Tribulation is incredibly vibrant, with numerous native fish species that call the area home. This makes it ideal for adventurous visitors who want to see the region from a different perspective. Here, you can go snorkelling or diving in the Great Barrier Reef. See some of the most fascinating marine life in the world, and enjoy the views of Cape Tribulation.

  • Sea Kayaking

For those who are a little less eager to go underwater, there are plenty more sea-based activities to enjoy. Kayaking along the coastline is a popular activity in this part of the country, thanks to the incredible coastal views and the clear waters.

  • Hiking Trails

The Daintree Rainforest was made for walkers, with plenty of hiking trails mapped out that spider their way through the lush undergrowth and past hundreds of unique plant species. Join guided tours and trails that expose you to the habitats of native wildlife and explore the history of the forest. Or, discover the scenery from horseback or, for a faster-paced experience, in a four-wheel drive.

  • Cruise the Rivers

Throughout the Daintree Rainforest, there are a handful of rivers that zigzag their way through the trees. They offer the perfect setting to spot wildlife, like crocodiles and water-based birds.

  • Hang Out at the Beach

The beaches at Cape Tribulation are absolutely stunning, with crystal clear waters and white sands that seem to stretch on forever. With the rainforest as a backdrop and the Great Barrier Reef sprawling out in front, it’s a haven for those looking to enjoy the peaceful side of Australia.
