The Perfect Day at Cape Tribulation

If you’re a big fan of beautiful beaches and breath-taking jungle scenery, then a visit to Cape Tribulation is definitely for you.

The stunning headland is located in northern Queensland and is situated within the lush arms of the Daintree National Park and the Wet Tropics World Heritage area.

You’ll want to make the most of your visit by spending all day there. Watch as the light changes as the sun moves throughout the day. Here’s how you can spend a great day in Cape Tribulation.

  • Morning – Breakfast on the Beach

Have some breakfast on the beach! There’s no better place to have breakfast than somewhere where you can dig your feet into the sand and see blue shimmering seas in every direction. Grab a bite to eat at one of the beachside cafes and watch the world wake up.

After you’ve fuelled up, why not see the coast from a different perspective? Hit the waves on a kayak adventure which takes you along the rugged coast of Cape Tribulation, taking in the mangrove forests and the jutting hills. Refresh yourself when you’re back on land with a cold drink of coconut juice.

  • Afternoon – Explore From a Different Perspective

There are several things you can do in the afternoon, depending on how you see your day panning out. If you’re looking to kick back and relax amongst the beautiful scenery, then hit the beach! Take a good book and a cocktail and wash away all your worries in the clear blue waters.

If you’re an adventurous traveller, spice things up with a canopy tour of the dense green jungle. Situated just off the beach with views of the open waters, you can glide from tree top to tree top exploring the lively undergrowth and learning about the natural surroundings and the wildlife that lives there. This is a great way to explore the area from a different perspective whilst having fun and learning about the World Heritage surroundings.

  • Evening – Make the Most of the Sunset

Sunsets at Cape Tribulation are amazing, with the dipping sun reflecting off the golden sands and the sparkling waters. So, what better way to enjoy this special time of day than with a sunset stroll through the rainforest? You can wander through the thick jungle, past great, ancient trees and colourful plants, keeping an eye out for the resident creatures that live there. Then, head back to the beach for a cocktail when the sun finally disappears below the horizon.
