The Daintree Rainforest is one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonderlands, being 180 million years old and full of the kind of wildlife you’d expect to find in such an ancient landscape!

Whether you’re taking an incredible Daintree River croc-spotting cruise, learning about Indigenous history on a Kuku Yalanji walk, meandering along the forest floor in search of some truly fascinating animals or experiencing the sublime Mossman Gorge, the Daintree Rainforest is full of the joy and wonder that makes it such a desirable place to traverse.

One of the spots that makes the Daintree so stunning is Cape Tribulation, the place where the jungle meets the sea. The perfect place to kick back and catch a breather after a day’s exploring, Cape Tribulation does feature a sublime beach.

However, the beach is known to be infested with saltwater crocodiles – or “salties” – making the beach a super dangerous place to swim and one that is highly restricted.

Instead, there are numerous divine water holes nearby that make up for the lack of swimming potential at the beach itself. Trust us – you won’t miss swimming in the sea – as these dreamy water holes are surrounded by lush vegetation that makes them a simply enchanting place for a dip.

Cape Tribulation is one of the most fabulous places in the whole Daintree, sure to be enjoyed alongside these unforgettable experiences:

Croc-spotting cruises

As we just mentioned: the Daintree is home to one of history’s most ancient predators, the saltwater crocodile. This makes it one of the best places in the world to go spotting these prehistoric predators, and there is no better place to do so than at the Daintree River, with its awesome croc-spotting cruises.

Your knowledgeable guide will point out these magnificent creatures whilst teaching you all about them, their habitat and what they like to feast on in this particular part of the world.

Not only this, but they will point out many of the other creatures that inhabit the area, making it a truly worthwhile experience when in this special part of the world.

Marrdja Boardwalk

This unforgettable walk traverses the wonderful rainforest as well as some fascinating mangrove swamps, making it one of the most interesting and invigorating walks in the whole Daintree!

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for some of the awesome plant and animal species that live just off the well-defined path.
